Back and neck pain are very common – almost everyone will experience an episode at some point in their lives. Specific conditions, such as;
- Whiplash
- Spondylosis
- Spondylolisthesis
- Nerve pain
- Sciatica
- Bulging disc
- Sacro-iliac joint pain
- Arthritis
- Tension headache
can cause pain and a significant reduction in your quality of life.
Able Bodies Physiotherapy will diagnose and explain your problem and put you on the right path towards recovery. Treatment for spinal pain can include manipulation and massage, taping, advice on lifestyle and activity, and prescription of specific exercises to aid your recovery.
If your back pain fails to resolve in an appropriate timeframe, or if you present with specific issues (for example muscle weakness), Able Bodies Physiotherapy is directly linked to Mr Ashley Poynton of the Poynton Spinecare Institute, Mr Joseph Fournier in the Beacon Hospital, and other spinal consultants in Ireland for referral for an opinion regarding more invasive treatments, such as injection or surgery.
Usually, more invasive procedures (injection/surgery) should be considered a last resort treatment for neck and back pain, after trying an intensive course of physiotherapy for 6-8 weeks.
